Thomas Dewayne Spurgeon, 58, Hamilton, Mo., formerly of St. Joseph, Mo., passed away on February 29, 2016, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton.

Thomas was born on April 5, 1957, in St. Joseph, to William "Bill" and Patricia "Pat" (Parker) Spurgeon Gregory.  He was a 1976 graduate of the Lafayette High School, St. Joseph.  Thomas had worked as a machinist for Ivy Steel in St. Joseph.

In his free time, Thomas enjoyed fishing, drag racing and cars, and watching movies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; and a special aunt, Vonda Drowns.

Survivors:  Sister-Susan (Eddie) Schwope, St. Joseph; Nephews-Eddie (Chantelle) Schwope and Joey (Lindsey) Schwope; Niece-Kelly Schwope; and a life-long friend, Vince Pease.

Cremation was entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, Mo.

There will be no formal services.
